Our vision

Bringing AI Planning to the European AI On-Demand Platform

icon CUBO-01

AI Planning consists in reasoning on a predictive model of a system being controlled (and possibly of its environment) and deciding what to do in order to achieve a desired objective

Example applications:

– Plan and coordinate the activities robots to achieve a desired high-level goal

     Flexible, robust and cost-effective automation

– Plan the activities in a factory

     Maximize production and minimize costs

– Organize the agricultural practices

     Minimize environmental impacts

Strong planning resources and capabilities are vital needs for the AI4EU platform.

AIPlan4EU will reinforce the AI4EU platform by bringing AI Planning
as a first class citizen and making planning a practical tool for innovation

How do we achieve this?

The AIPlan4EU project brings the most advanced planning technology Europe has to offer to companies, SMEs and innovators through the AI4EU platform, demonstrating how this technology can be adopted in different scenarios, boosting the use of planning technologies even in non-technical businesses and incentivizing the research in AI planning in a modern, application-oriented fashion

  • Collect real world use-cases from partners and from open calls
  • Develop a general, planner-agnostic API for planning systems
  • Connect existing, state-of-the-art planners and use-cases via the new API
  • Demonstrate planning impact by developing technology-specific bridges
  • Integrate planning in the European AI On-Demand Platform
  • Spread the knowledge on planning via webinars and guidelines

Project Description

Making planning applicable for everyone

AIPlan4EU: Bringing AI Planning to the European On-Demand AI Platform

Automated Planning and Scheduling is a central research area in AI that has been studied since the inception of the field and where European research has been making strong contributions over decades. Planning is a decision-making technology that consists in reasoning on a predictive model of a system being controlled and deciding how and when to act in order to achieve a desired objective […]

Open Calls

The application deadlines of all open calls of the AIPlan4EU project have passed.

How can you benefit and contribute?

The project seeks additional use cases, additional planning engines and demonstrators by funding sub-projects selected via open calls. We are currently looking for additional use-cases for planning technology, read the call requirements and apply now!

Use-Cases: what can planning be used for?

AI planning can be used to identify a course of actions that achieves a certain objective. As part of the project, we consider (among others) the following use-cases
